A: Common causes include insufficient battery power, conflicting pairing records, inconsistent firmware versions, the controller's infrared lights not being lit, obstructed cameras, or abnormal Pimax Play installation. Please troubleshoot in the following steps:
Charge and restart: Fully charge the controllers, then restart the controllers and the headset, and try pairing again.
Check for firmware updates: Open the device settings in Pimax Play and check whether there are available updates for the headset and controller firmware; if so, complete the update first and then retry.
Clear old pairing records and re-pair: Press and hold the controller's π button and menu button to clear the connection records, then click controller pairing in Pimax Play, and press the controller's pairing button for about 4 seconds to enter pairing mode.
Check the controller's infrared lights: After powering on the controller, use your phone camera to film the controller's ring and observe whether the infrared lights are lit. If not, press and hold the π button for about 9 seconds to reset the controller and try again.
Check the headset's tracking cameras: Check whether the headset's tracking camera area is obstructed or dirty. Clean the camera area, then bring the controller close to the headset cameras and observe whether recognition is restored.
Confirm the scope of the issue: Confirm whether the issue affects one controller or both controllers, and check the recognition status separately in Pimax Play and SteamVR.
Reinstall Pimax Play: If the above steps are ineffective, uninstall and reinstall Pimax Play, selecting a clean installation during setup, then re-pair the controllers.
