A: Symptoms include: in a dual-GPU configuration (9070XT primary, 7900XTX secondary), the monitor is connected to the primary GPU, the game is assigned to the secondary GPU, and SteamVR runs on the primary GPU. 2D games display normally in the headset, but when running 3D games (such as Assetto Corsa), the image outputs to the external monitor, the headset shows no image and does not respond, and SteamVR displays "Please connect the VR headset to the same GPU as the monitor."
Troubleshooting steps
Confirm the GPU configuration: the monitor is connected to the primary GPU, the game runs on the secondary GPU, and SteamVR and headset output are on the primary GPU.
Confirm that the GPU running the game differs from the GPU outputting to the headset.
Confirm the SteamVR cross-GPU output error.
In a dual-GPU environment, cross-GPU rendering is not allowed. Do not run games on the other GPU.
Set headset output, SteamVR, and game rendering all on the same GPU.
Restart SteamVR and the game, and the image should output correctly to the headset.
If the issue persists after the above steps, please provide the information above and contact Pimax engineers for further handling.
